Had to remove the pto shaft in my M5. The M602 has threads in the end of the shaft a person can use but not in the early M5. Made a collar and a split washer to place behind the splines and use with a slide hammer. Worked well.

Had to make a puller for M5 also. Was a tough pull. I drilled and tapped pto shaft. Put bolt in middle of puller with two 1/2" all thread. What ever works.
