Minneapolis Moline 602 power steering

The power steering on my 602 works to the right but not to the left. According to the repair manual, this can be caused by a sticking control valve spool. I have disassembled the control valve, cleaned all the parts, replace all the o-rings, and reassembled it - no change. I could not figure out how to remove the relief valve - I assume it is the gray circle on the 2nd picture. Could this figure in to the problem and if so does anyone have a suggestion how to remove it? Also, the first picture shows a notch in the end of the control valve spool. I couldn't figure out its significance - Does the notch have a purpose and does it need to be positioned in a particular way for the valve to function? Any suggestions and information would be greatly appreciated - (I hope to not always have to turn to the right.)

The power steering on those is some sort of vodoo magic. Seems they always work one way but not the other. I believe the little pin that controls the spool gets worn. The excessive slop causes the spool to not open and no assist. I think the pin is available new from Agco from what I have been told. Honestly have never had to fix one myself yet.

Go to the subject in this forum " 5 star power steering gaskets" Your valve assy is a little different from 5star, but it adjusts the same way. if you can not adjust according to this procedure You will probably have to replace lever and sleeve.

I hate to admit my computer "ineptness", but how do I search for a topic like "5 star power steering gaskets" on this forum?
