Second attempt at at rope seal on a G1000 anyone have any tips on how to keep them from leaking? Iv heard some people soak them in motor oil 24hrs prior to installing. I didnt and put it in dry but it's not appearing to be ripped. I also didnt put any sealer in the caps. The 1st attempt I used the bottom cap to cut the rope and left it an 1/8th inch proud for both halfs. When I tore it down today it was clearly leaking past the rope where it contacts the crank, sides and top were dry. Got the seal from agco and cant get the other style from Felpro.
