I am very new to world of Minneapolis Moline. I purchased a pulling tractor this spring; a UB, but the motor is not from a UB. I have a slight rear main leak, and would like to know what block, or engine I should even be buying parts for. I'll also pass along the casting numbers for the jugs and heads, so maybe you folks can tell me what I'll be working with, should something else goes wrong. Engine block is either 10A2808T, or 10A2803T{casting is a little mottled}. Jugs are 10A22875, and heads are 10A4231. I really like this tractor, good power, strongly built, and seems very modular. Any help with the numbers would be appreciated. Thanks so much MD

Only number that I can find is head numbers off a 336. Other numbers don't cross forward or back.

3 bolt starter is most likely a 336. Large starter likely 403, smaller starter the original type 283. Possible exceptions but a place to start.

Today's Featured Article - Madison's County - by Anthony West. Philip Madison has been a good friend of mine for quite some time. He has patiently suffered my incessant chit chat on the subject of tractors for longer than I care to remember, and on many occasions he has put himself out, dropped what ever it was he was doing, to come and lend a hand cranking handles, or loading a find onto a trailer. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects. ... [Read Article]
