Hydraulic pto pump question

Someone please school me on hydraulic pumps. I have a hesston 1014 hydroswing swather that needs a new hydraulic pump. Can I use
a Prince pto hydraulic pump like I have on my farmland f11 loaded or do I have to have the style that the swather came with?
Thanks

What happened was pump was misaligned and ate up the splines. The spline part is all that is wrong. Through a farm show article, I found where someone used the high gpm Prince pto pump to replace the one on a new Holland 1475 swing tongue swather.

I guess I'm trying to confirm this more. My pump is on a hesston 1014 swing tongue swather. The gpm's are right and he just adjusted the pressure some. I just am looking for more opinions, and I am gonna go into town and check at hydraulic shop, but it's a long drive to do that also.

Not sure how the email thing works, but I'll try sending you one. Just so we're on the same page, I'm talking about the pto shaft splines that are ruined on my pump. So what would you want for the pump?

JD and New Holland used same pump. Cessna built unit. I have replaced several spline parts in New Hollands There were 1 3/8 6 and 1 3/8 21 spline usued

So long as the PTO pump has a similar flow rating it will work. The OEM pump is probably a piston pump, rated for higher pressure and longer life than the Prince PTO pump. The pressure required to run the mower is dependent of how hard you push it. The Prince pump will produce the pressure if required, at the cost of its life span. But, how many acres do you plan on running the machine vs. the cost of pumps.
