U302 Diesel Injection Pump acting up?

Happy First week of May.. kind on a long winded post here but we have an issue with our U302 Diesel that showed up last week. I seeded 45 acres of rye last fall and 40 acres of oats this spring before this issue started. We use it to pull a 12 foot grain drill and once on Monday and then again yesterday it just stops and when trying to restart there is NO Smoke. So it acts like it isn?t getting fuel. On Monday we let it sit and put a different tractor on, after milking, tried it and it started right up. Yesterday again it stopped after running an hour or so. Tried to restart no white smoke. Dug in a bit farther, cracked fuel line going into filter had fuel, checked bleed on filter had fuel, checked fuel line leaving filter (operated hand pump) had fuel,,, let it sit 20 minutes and it started up, we finished small filed and drove it back to the farm it operated like normal for 20 minutes or so. Today I am going to change the filter and Tuesday we have one more small patch to seed. So I don?t think I?m missing too much here,, but I think we might have to look at the injection pump? Thoughts?

If I recall that has the Rosamaster pump on it, there is a plastic governor ring inside them and after time it breaks up. To check it out, take the small timing window loose and it should start right up, it gets full of coffee ground like plastic. It's time for a pump overhaul. Bob
