Diesel glow plugs

Has anyone ever installed glow plugs in a 602 diesel or the like? Ours won't start without ether or being warmed up. Might be a worthwhile winter
project since it won't start:) Cheers!

Glow plugs wouldn't be easy. I did a 5.9 Cummins grid heater in the intake piping on my M670 Super diesel. It works very well.

Never heard of those. Seems like a much better idea. Where in the piping did you place it, close to the heads I would assume? Does it work kinda
like glow plugs where you energize it for a time then start and if so how long do you keep it on? Thanks much I am going to look into that tomorrow!

MM 1355 used preheaters in air tube. U diesels and gvi/gb had preheater setup. German IH JD d239,268,310 also used. Sounds like motor time. We always used circ heater or 2 block heaters.

We used to have a MM dealer in the neighbor hood and he put some thermo-starter kits on those 585 engines. I think they were Moline kits. Have you done a leak-down test?

I think the best idea so far is Chris's recommendation of an intake heater from a new diesel truck such as this one:

There is a big plug in front of the intake manifold which I can pull out drill and tap to size and should be good to go. No I am not going to rebuild it just for not starting when cold, all we do with it is drag the horse arena and grounds, so just don't make sense to put that kind of money in it. She runs fine, a big of smoke after warm, but no other problems.
