Bought a Moline tug this summer and cannot find a serial number tag on it. Engine is an overhead valve style MM 4 cylinder and I am thinking it is a MT-40. Haven't
checked if the engine tag is on it as I can't get to it where I parked it for the winter. The Minneapolis-Moline logo on it is similar to scripting from the early 60's.
Want to get in touch with Floyd County to get manuals for it but would like to narrow down its vintage. Thanks, Bruce.

This is my MT-40.

That sure looks like ours. Seat is add on and some one put a long shifter on ours. Took the pic last night but tough to do inside a small barn.

Looks like a 1960/61 as it has Mpls Moline in casting weight (later ones had Motec or MM or White in the casting0 and if the original color (which it looks like), the first ones went out to Mpls / St. Paul airport with the yellow paint. The Army ones were drab green; the Navy ones were painted somewhat battleship grey and the ones built and sent to the Air Force were drab blue. That was the first years for them as we tested them for three shifts for over a month prior to manufacture and were on the same frame as the Mobilifts (lift forks) and were either 4000 lbs or 6000 lbs depending on the counter balance (weight), thus MY / MT-40 or -60's.
