Jetstar 2 seat frame

I have a 1963 Jetstar 2 that has a seat frame much like the massey floatomatic of the 100 series, there is a hinge to swing it up, but it can not hinge the way it is currently mounted. there must be some thing missing or it is mounted wrong can anyone post the way theirs is mounted I have a parts manual, but it shows no details. I have looked at pics and none have any close ups of this seat mount. Thanks in advance

does the hydraulic type mean the seat mount is different? If so what is type e hydraulics, mine has dual outlets if that matters?

I only ever worked on one of those seats, but on that one, you pulled it forward and a tab under the seat slid out of a pocket, then you could flip it up if you wanted to. That said, I don't think all of them had that feature, I don't think you can flip up the seat on my Jetstar, for instance. It may have been a higher cost option.

I also wonder why you would want to flip the seat up, it looks like you would have to stoop to reach the steering wheel. Its not like the old Zs and Us where you got a better view of where you were going if you stood.

the 3 point is teleflow it just did not look like the hinge was ever able to work as it was, maybe that was how it was built, when I first used it it had the seat pad taped in place, so was trying to make it work and look right. found the hinge froze up and unuseable. freed it up still not able to use as it mounts. i can deal with it if thats the way it is built. just figured there must be something wrong. Thanks again.

Non of the seats flip up from the front. Grab the seat from under the backrest and pull up and forward. The seat will tip to about 45 degree. and give you room to stand. I also tip them up at night in the field in case it rains. A little pressure on the front of the seat with the back of your legs also helps move the seat up.

Thank you for this posting that is what I am missing, looks like the adjustable tension and arms are what mine is without seat frame and cushions are the same, the spring assembly and attached arms are not on mine so at least part of the mystery is solved Thanks again

I don't have a Jet2. But being an economy model std equipment might have been just the cushioned seat frame with out the Flote-ride. That is what was used on the brown Uni-tractor.
