Valve cover breather extentions

Has anyone tried pvc pipe to
raise valve cover breathers? I
have a lot of it laying around
would work perfect I dont know about taking the heat.

It wouldn't be too tough to cut the "necks" of the breathers and weld or braze in extensions made of steel tubing of the appropriate size. Shouldn't cost much for the amount of tubing needed, either.

Doing it that way would eliminate having another gasketed joint to weep oil.

Thats a good Idea..My thought
was to cut breather pipe/tube
1/2 way up and slip both pieces
into pvc/sch 40 its a snug fit
and to prevent leakage I could
put some permatex on steel and
slip in pipe..

I have a MM602D and instead of raising them I rerouted them back and down below the oil pan to keep the oil mist from the old engine from completely bathing it in goo. I used black ABS and connected the two valve covers together before going down. Used some air filter foam in the end to keep thing clean. I have had no problems with heat effecting the ABS so far 6 months in. I covered the holes in the hood but stood them up for an air gap. So far the engine is clean for the first time in my life.

I was looking for something else today and I ran across a tall breather It measures 6 1/4 inches top to bottom. Call me if interested. 815.456.2114 let it ring if I am not here it will roll over to my cell. Let ring eventually you will get voicemail.
