MM M5 POWER STEERING QUESTION

I overhauled the hyd. pump on the M5 and stopped the leak. The power steering is quite good, but not as good as a JD 4010-3010--JUST SAYING.
I saw in the Farm Show magazine where a guy took an electric power steering unit from a 12 volt car and spliced it into the steering rod. Was wondering if I could do that to the M5 and have hyd. steering and electric steering both.

Ya a crazy question but just wondering.....len in michigan

4020 has close to double the psi. Mount a Saginaw pump like on 670 Supers and U302's. New, M5 steering was never great.

The tractor Doc did that for his wife on her B Farmall, that she uses to mow with, he writes for the Red Power Magazine, it's been a year or so that article was in the magazine, and he sell's a list of what u need if your interested,i can look it up for u want to see it!! The list is pretty cheap!

Thank you Fast Farmall---I would like to see the list if it is not too much trouble... ALSO the MM M5 already has power steering from the hyd. pump---can I still use that and also have an electric steering installed in the cut steering shaft----SO two power steering units......

Ok Found it,but to me it looks complicated my advise would be to order a copy of the magazine from Red Power 712 364-2131, and order a copy of the July Aug copy of 2018.He took 13 pictures and explains things in great detail, so i think it would be worth it. If you dont want to, then send 10.00 to the Tractor Doctor Ron O'Neill,4880 West 9th Street Road,Oshkosh WI 54904 In a self addressed stamped enveloped . and the kind of tractor your putting it on. Ask for the power steering packet.. All other impertinent questions will be ignored. Maybe in the packet all those pictures and explanation is in there, so disregard ordering a copy of Red power !!Good Luck
