1939 UTS engine rebuild

I recently acquired my grandfathers 1939 uts with a stuck engine. The tractor has not run in over 30 years but was sitting in the back of a shed for all of that time. I tried the ATF/diesel solution in the cylinders for several months with no luck so i decided to pull the head to see what I was dealing with. The #3 piston has some damage to it which looks to be from a valve that had a broken spring the cylinder wall is also scorn as is the #1 cylinder. I am fully prepared for a complete rebuild but am wondering where is a good place to get a rebuild kit for these engines? Also any tips or important things to look for when i tear it down. This is the oldest tractor and the first minneapolis moline that i have ever worked on but they seem simple as they come. Any info would be great and I will try and post some pictures in the future.
 
Overhaul kits do not exist for Moline engines. You will have to piece together and come up with what parts you need. 39 should be a Babbitt bearing engine yet I believe. Oversized pistons are not currently made for 283 engines. Some new old stock out there, or used. I have a couple used sets I could part with. Best bet is to get it apart and see what you all will need before diving in and looking for parts. Welters Farm Supply would be a good source for gaskets and other things.
 
If you need oversized pistons and cannot find Egge Machine can make them. They made pistons for my antique truck. I got a piston rings set for a newer UTS from Agkits.

Thanks for the help. I hope to have everything tore down in the next couple of weeks and will give welters a try
 
Have some NOS pistons,rod bearings and intake valves. 1939 was one of more common UTS. First 1/2 of model year carb was reversed with breather on back and different hood. Manifold only used to 1941. If motor is a KEC it is babbit bottom end.
