I am working on a carb for a twin city j model and this thing is giving fits.
Was wondering if there is a good used on out the for sale?

Well, I tried that. A carb from a Z will and it won't: the lever on the throttle shaft is in the wrong place and the inlet is covered by something on the engine and you can't hit it with a hose. IF you get the lever modified it will work, I did that. But you really need an air cleaner, even if its just for shows. Even they get pretty dusty.

What I did on my JTU was I found by accident that one of the early Case tractors used a version of that carburetor. It may be the model C, maybe. I found a NOS Case carb. on Ebay and I used the venturi and jets from the MM carb. in the Case housing, since they were smaller. I never ran mine on kerosene, the manifold was welded back together and they left off the bottom of the heat baffle.
 
I attached the Z carb to the air cleaner by using the original elbow and all I had to do was make an adapter plate to attach it to the carb.
