Mm m602 decent tractor

My cousin inherited a m602, bad engine, never saw it run,used, found an engine 1500$ complete, tires are fair, sheet metal good, were these good tractors in general, any issues that are common,it was a gas tractor, would it work with an ih 460 or ac d-17, also what's the ampli-torque , kinda like ih t/a I guess, good hydraulics on these tractors, sorry for all the questions, this is a new color for us, seems to be a big tractor for only 60 ish hp, please any help greatly appreciated thanks Dusty

They all seem to have done a lot of work. Power steering can be hokey and not work right when worn out. Can be fixed if you are patient. 60 horse and about 6,000 LBS. Engines run slow and have excellent torque. The ampli-torc probably will not work, at least that is my luck. Similar to the earlier IH T/A. MM's will freewheel in low. $1500 is a lot for a used engine if you don't get to hear it run first. Moline cylinder heads like to crack. Have seen M5's and M602's in the $1500-$2000 range running and driving.

The M602 was basically built one year in the transition from M5 to M670. 1964.

That 602 will make a monkey out of a 460 and/or a D 17 Allis, for power!

hey were made for two years. 1963 and 1964. Mine is a 1963 LP fuel.
