What are these for on a G706

Located by pulley delete plate and brake.

Those are the adjustment bolts for the rub blocks on the bevel gear that keeps the bevel gear from moving away from the bevel pinion.
 
Unlikely to need adjustment. Back off jam nuts and then tighten screws evenly. Then back each one off quarter of turn and then retighten jam nut.
 
The rub blocks first appeared on the GBs.. GTs and GTCs did not have them. The first G diesel did not have them. I believe that is correct but they may have been used on an industrial tractor even earlier.
 
Keith I was thinking of bearing mess not torque blocks. In 70's our Massey was totally rebuilt on rear to prevent the bearing mistake.
