Hydraulics on my UTU

Will the hydraulics on my UTU operate a orbital motor long enough to unload a 16-18' forage box? My thought is to attach a 540 pto stub to a hyd motor running off the U hydraulics since they don't have live PTO.

I MUST find a better way to not half to climb in and out of a cab to unload forage boxes. Would be so nice to take one step and stand(turning my whole body) to watch while unloading boxes into the bagger.

Has anyone sucssesfully attached a auxilery hydraulic pump and componants to a U for this purpus?

Sure U pump won't drive orbital. Pto pump would work but ties up pto.

I don't know if your tractor has a belt pulley shaft but I have seen auxiliary hydraulic pumps run off them. Don't know if that helps as clutch still has to be engaged.

If I am understanding your message correctly. No, a factory UTU Hyd. will not run a orbit motor. But why would you? Just hook up the U PTO to your forage box and unload. Don't have to crawl anywhere. Just walk up and control the clutch from the ground. Any tractor with live PTO would require the same action to start and stop the PTO.
Or is the problem the U is not large enough to pull the wagons up to the blower? In that case a large PTO pump like Farmhand use to use on the U parked aside of the forage box might be your answer.

I am unloading into a silage bagger there for I pull ahead quit often as the convayor on the bagger is about as wide as the one on the forage box. Climbing in and out of a cab tractor and looking over my left shoulder, plus all the tractor controls are on the right console. And with a couple hundred loads to unload I need a better way and the U is it, one step up and down, and can turn my whole body to pull forward, slip the hand clutch to pull forward, stand on the brake instead of sitting pushing on one.

OK! That is a whole different situation. That shows how behind the times I am. Was thinking unloading into a silo blower. Do you need the PTO to run the bagger in addition to a way to run the box. Any way the large PTO pump I was referring to has a hollow shaft through the center. And a 6 spline extension can come out the back to run another piece of equipment. However your PTO hook up is extended close to a foot. I would have to measure. I have one of these pumps new in inventory.

you might check to see if a live pto assembly that goes on the left break housing off a u or ub would fit

Will it run an orbit motor? Yes if sized right. No not for extended length of time. Seen them run augers on gravity boxes for dry fertilizer. Relatively short duty cycle. It depends.

Can you help me size the motor? GPM of U pump? We currently run tractor engine RPM at about 1200 while unloading forage into the bagger, I would estimate run time being about the same as a fertilizer auger 5-7 minutes but less horse power required than a fertilizer auger.

When chopping by myself usually chop two loads pull home 2 miles then unload them back to back wouldn't unload again for at least an hour or more before returning.
