Fixing up a ‘50 Za and need all the lights. I understand it’s supposed to have 7” lights, is the rear light the same as the front lights? How is the rear light mounted to the fender? I have brackets for the front but not the rear.

Lights were changed late in the 1950 year. starting with ZAU serial# 00604141, ZAS 00700381, ZAN 00800235 and ZAE 00900368 the new 5 3/4" domed lens lights were introduced. Prior to those numbers, the
lights had 7" flat lenses. The parts book shows a rear light same as the fronts for use as a flood light (mounted on left fender) and a separate smaller light with red lens for a tail light. Can't say I've ever seen one
so don't know about it first hand. The rear lights are shown with each having its own bracket, not the same as the fronts.

Here is what the bracket on my UB looks like. Hope this helps.

I may have an extra bracket for the rear light as well as some lights. The rear bracket has the same
mount where it mounts on the light but are longer than the front ones and has a bend in the bottom.
Most I believe were lost throughout the years as they would crack and break the fender where they
mount.

Thank you guys for help. Alan I don’t think I live to far from you, when this weather warms up some maybe I could come take a look what you have. Needing a few other small parts also.

They switched from 10 digits in the serial# (starting with 0065) to 8 digits (starting with 0060) during the 1950 model year. The change in lights came during the 8 digit series. If yours has 10 digits then it would be the older 7" lights.

Sure, always welcome. I can give you the 5 cent tour. Hope it warms up soon. This weather is getting
really old.
