I am having a problem with my KT clutch. If I engage, tractor will pull & operate normally. But, it will "fall" out & disengage shortly. The only way To keep it going is to put pressure on the handle. I adjusted it like the manual says, but same thing. I can pull the side plate & watch the clutch cone engage the fingers & it looks to be going in all the way, just like the operating manual shows. When it is engaged, what keeps the fingers from sliding off the cone? Is there supposed to be a groove on the cone high side to hold fingers in place? I get how the later style works, but how does this one work or just worn out?

Needs to be setup more if possible. Not locking over center. Should snap over center. Same Twin Disc clutch as U.

I have never worked on a KT. But I think I know the type of clutch you are talking about, but I can't remember what brand or model tractor it was. Might have been a Rock Island. That cone you are talking about is supposed to have a slight grove. But since the cone is not always in the same spot each time it is engaged the wear is probably on the fingers. I would give it another notch tighter and see if it helps.
The later KT s probably had the same clutch as the U and maybe the older ones had what you have.

Del All clutches same KT266 on all KT's. U part number UT266 My Rock Island has same clutch. Still looking for a hood for F.

I sure would like to help you out on the hood. Back in the 50s Dad traded two Rock Island FAs off on a used MM U . The guy was an MM dealer, but also scraped machinery. I still have Dad's 1st tractor a Rock Island G2 and my Grand father's F on full steel.

Have pattern to make one if one doesn't show up. Still need rod
bearings. My grandfather's first tractor was a Gaar Scott.Dad's
first was a 15-30.

I might have bearings for the Waukesha engine in the G2. But i assume you have the Buda engine in the F.
