I am bringing home a 1951 Z. I have not ran the serial number yet to confirm the year or model code. I can not decide what I am going or should do with it. It is in pretty decent shape, needs exhaust manifold replaced which I have, original paint?. I could use it on my 11 acres if I could pull a no-till planter or small drill. I have gentle rolling hills and prefer no till for erosion prevention.

Ohio. I do not have pictures yet. It is still in my father in laws barn. He told me to take it or he was giving it away. I had to haul out a Farmall A first. I am hoping to get it running to take it home. It has been sitting on concrete in the corner for twelve years or more.

The price is definitely right. If it's not stuck and if it has coolant in it, it shouldn't be that hard to get it running. After that you can always decide whether to keep or flip it or whatever.

I just got a 445 running that had not been started since sometime in the 1990's.

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

I brought the Farmall A home as well. It is still on the trailer. Motor is currently stuck. Had a couple inquiries on its sickle bar but I do not know that I want to part it. Father in law just lost all interest in the tractors years ago and just wanted barn space back. He is into Mopars and has to jam everything in right now.

I tried to buy the Z a couple of times to farm with and he always told me that I didn’t want that. Now he said just take them. My wife and I bought a Massey TO 35 from him when she bought his business, it was part of the deal. It was sitting outside for the last 25 years, not running the last 4. I got it running with minimal effort before I brought the Farmall home. It is a mess.

Pour some ATF in the cylinders for a while and see what happens.
Search through these forums for posts made by "Old". He does that and claims to have gotten engines unstuck using that method. I know it works to help free up the rings, etc. on engines that are not stuck. I've done that myself.
You've got nothing to lose by trying it.
