What do Pistons Fit?

I have set of four (4) new old stock pistons. The Part number on the box is 9805H2. The pistons have a "1/2" stamped on the top, not sure what that means. I think they may fit a Moline R or Z?

Well, they are definitely MM pistons. It says that on the box. Maybe the Part Number is 9805112 or 9805M2? I can't tell if it is a letter or two number before the number 2. I thought the early R's and Z's had the same pistons with the Z having a longer stroke.

M2 suffix is Massey number so have to be 95 or 97. 95 all 4 1/4. 97 4 5/8 made by MM. MM R Z 3 5/8 but Z all flat R raised.

Showing a picture of the piston might help. Also might help to know the diameter of the piston and the wrist pin. If it is an "M2" on the end, it could be a Massey number, possibly for a continental engine which Moline used on some things.

Okay, after unwrapping the piston and looking closely at them, I think the pistons are for a Wisconsin air cooled engine. They measure 3.25 " in diameter and have a vertical and horizontal slot cast in one side. I guess the reason they have MM on the box is they were for a Moline baler motor. Guess I need to figure out what engine they fit. Maybe I should post on the implement board?

Look up some Wisconsin pistons and compare the photos. You could also measure them bore, ring lands size etc. At a glance they do look like Wisconsin pistons with the slot.

Had to some digging. Pistons used in MM J2 combine 1944-46. Carb kit is L45-22 which is for a Stromberg UC. UC was used on 4 cylinder 108 VF4 or VE4.
