Just got it about 2 months ago. Filled it with propane, check for leaks, all good. Trying to get it started and I noticed propane fumes/gas coming out of the exhaust. I guess its a good thing it did not start. I am thinking this would be carburator issues. It should stop or control the amount of propane coming from the vaporizer. Correct? Any body got any ideas on where to start. The carburator and vaporizer are the orignial versions. Thanks

Long time since been around any LP engines, but think fuel flow is controlled at the vaporizer. I could be wrong.

Bad vaporizer. Have valve problem if coming out exhaust, always comes out thru air cleaner. I have heard oil in air cleaner gurgle.

I have another vaporizer that came off a U. I think I will swap them and see what happens. Thanks for your help

You likely already know this but you can flood an lp gas engine and when you do, while cranking, you will see fuel vapor exiting the exhaust pipe. So maybe you're seeing unburned fuel out the exhaust because the engine didn't start timely. Had that on a 560 Farmall, and yes, ultimately found the trouble in the ensign vaporizer/regulator. Lived with it, just made sure it was outside when starting - just in case.

If some of the exhaust valves are open the fuel will come out the exhaust....least it does on my 930 Case lp......
