Spark Plugs for M5 gas

According to my Repair Catalog (R-2020B) a M5 should use a No.5 Comm (Or D9) or No.8 Comm. (or D16). I think the D9 or D16 numbers are Champions not sure on the Comm. numbers. Maybe this will give you a starting point.

Thank you very much for your reply. It has D16 in it. but I don't have a manual for it yet, but one is
ordered.. It seems a lot prefer Autolite over Champion..

The D16 ( that number has been
changed. Don't remember new number)
is a good general use plug in Moline
tractors. I have had much better
service from Champion plugs than any
other. Autolite was worst for going
dead. Had to carry an extra box of
Autolites to the pulls so I could
replace dead plug between pulls. Got
put out with that in a hurry and went
back to Champion.

According to MM information -- for LP engines the recommendation was Champion D-!4 plugs --- Champion was the plugs originally that we put in the M-5's when I worked at MM in 1963.. Autolite Plugs are much better than the Champions are NOW. I have switched to NKG "AB-6" (#2910) for both of my M-5's. For LP all plugs should be gaped at .014-.016; as opposed to the gasoline engine
@.022-.024. I hope this helps

Thank You. That helps. I can't find Autolite here, but will pick some up next time I go to the bigger city.
