Hello Fellas & ladies,
Hope you don't mine my updates on my Utn l.p.I enjoy sharing because I love seeing others projects. Its all interesting and educational, and motivational.
Well, after assessing our situation we decided to go for it . We are going to strip tranny & diff for repairs . The more we looked the more we saw needed attention Example, pulled tranny main shaft and needle bearings at end of shaft were in pieces.
Today, Bob and I worked our butts off getting wieghts, wheels ,rims off and ready for blasting and opened her up for diff removal. She had the wilkerson nutwell weights that were popular in Ca. in the 50's both inside and outside. They weigh 400-500 each and tires were full of water.
So hopefully heavy stuff done today next shop day we will pull axles then diff.
Will be needing parts. Thanks to two of you that have given me your e-mails for parts. AS we get her all tore down and wash and assess parts needed I will start ordering parts.
I will post todays pic's.
Best, Tony

I must say I am little depressed as I can't find my tractor .Its on pallets, pieces, engine is at machine shop 60 miles south. three tables piled with bolts, etc.
Have to think positive, done it on I.H.four times before but everyone I do seems to be the hard one. Ha,Ha.

Tony, I sure do enjoy your "update" pics.
Seems like on most of the IH LP's, the tanks were built in either Lubbock or San Angelo, Tx. Just curious, where does the ID plate on your MM show where the tank was built?
