Hi guys new to your forum. My father in laws last project was a MM Z. Unfortunately he was unable to finish it. It is mechanically perfect but we would like to polish it up in his memory. Can anyone give us the PPG urethane paint codes for the yellow and red. Thanks guys.

I have used PPG “OMNI AU MTK” color is Prairie Gold #2 Code is MTK60039A with MH168 hardener.

Primer is OMNI AU MP170 with MP175 catalyst (hardener)

I am very pleased with results

I did not use PPG for the Red wheels

Question: what color are the rear axle shafts and front hubs from the factory?...Thanks in advance.....

We painted my UB. My brother had painted a neighbor's 560 Farmall a few weeks before and had enough red paint left over to do my wheels. My hubs are gold, front wheels and rear cast centers are red, rear rims are silver. I've never heard any complaints about the red.

Your Z would have the wheel centers and rims bonded as one piece and would be all red.

Thanks again, If IH red is good I got that covered

Up until about 1943 or so, all the wheels hubs and axles, front and rear are all red. Around 1944 Moline started painting front and rear hubs and axles Prairie Gold. The exception would be the U's with one piece rear wheel castings up till 1950. These were all red with silver rims. On G's I'm not 100% sure as none were sold in our area. But I think they had gold rear hubs starting when the GTB came out in 1947. I've never seen a M-M with black axles. Seems like they were always painted the same color as the hubs. Hope this helps.

On your ZA take the wheels off paint them IH red and paint the rest Prairie Gold #2 it is in the PPG computer if they look it up and gives the print out

Exactly what I would do! PPG #60039 and IH #2150 red. I like to add a abundant dose of hardener for that extra shine. If you keep it in the shed most of the time, it will still look like you just painted it(barring any oil leaks) twenty years down the road.

Thanks Clint, Heath, and rvirgil. We needed that Harvest Gold #2 name for our PPG guy cause we didn't know which MM color was right. You guys have been a great help. We'll post some pics for you when were done
