Manual question

Question for the folks here, I'm usually over in the IH forum, but my father in-law has acquired a couple of minneapolis moline, 6-cylinder, natural gas engines at an auction. I think HD504A/6A, 504 cc.in.

I know nothing about MM's, but was wondering what model tractor this engine is from and what manual would cover these engines.

Thanks for your help.
Marty

Well, I don"t know anything about MM"s, and after looking up this engine I know even less...
In 94 Clevite bearing catalog:
MM engine list shows D504, D504-6, D504-6A, D504A, D504A-6, DHD504-6A, HD504, HD504-6A, HD504A, HD504A-6A, just plain 504, 504-6, 504A and 504A-6 (with a couple 504B"s)...
But in the model section (about 160 models or so) none show the HD504A-6A or any of the H-engines...
I assume the H or HD designates some kind of variation, possibly an option for some or any of the other 505/504A"s???
All the 504"s seem to have common rod and mains, which also fit some 425"s and 451"s...

Thanks all.

After getting some more details, these were LP engines, on stationary power units.

Just for asking can these be transplanted into the G-1000 frame?

For the sake of argument, if they were in running condition what is the value of the engines?

On the other side of the equation, what would the value be if they are locked up?

Marty,
Stationary engines are typically referred to as large bell housings blocks. G1000 and newer 6 cyl tractors use a small bellhousing block and the two will not interchange. The early GBD through G708 used the large bell housing blocks like the stationary engines.
On a side note you'll find a lot of interchangable parts between most MM 4 and 6 cyl engines - cylinders, heads, pistons, rods, bearings, etc.
