M5 Roosa Master update

I was home this past weekend and did some more checking on my injector pump. i pulled the timing cover, let the fuel drain out, and turned the engine with a wrench. I found that the reason the timing marks were not aligned, that is the pump is not turning. Does this mean that the pump shaft is broken?

If i do need a pump, what are my options? Does anybody have or know of a RM DBG pump I could put on? Is there any other pumps that would work? Just wondering. Is there any modifications that could be made to a different part number RM pump to fit the M5?

Also, I could try to find a gas engine, but I would really prefer to keep the diesel.

Thanks,I am kind of stuck here.

The Roosa Master pump on my 585 engine almost went out of time once. What happened is the 'fiber' coupler inside was just about to come apart. Most injection shops will replace that, and, if that's all you want done,it's not that big a deal.
Don't give up on the engine, it could easily be something quite simple. Good luck

So there is a coupler between the two shafts? I should just take it off, but I don't know of a pump shop in the area.

There is a pump shop I have used over in Sterling Heights to do Roosemaster pumps, If it is not turning with the engine, it probably seized the head and you are looking @ a bill around $1000 to fix it.

Wow, a thousand dollar repair. I am in the upper peninsula, so Sterling heights is a long way, probably like 6 hours.

Anyway, do any other pumps work on MM's, or would I have to get lucky and find one from a late M5/M602/M670?
