Hello.
I have a 1960 Massy 65 diesel that won't Start. I undid the fuel line at the injectors pump and I checked the fuel and it reaches the injectors pump.
The tractor was fine a couple of months ago but sat in the barn since and now with the cooler weather it won't start.
Should I undo an injector and see if the fuel reaches?
I am new to this.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.[b:a1c9a7b411][/b:a1c9a7b411]

YES ..this is a Pump from a 3 cinder MF Perkins Diesel.

I would still bleed the pump as per this picture,as I primed the system with the Transfer pump..

Since you took that line loose you now have to bleed the air out of the system. The procedure is in the Owner's Manual and you need to follow it precisely. If you don't have one now's the time to get one. Before you begin that you need to ensure the fuel shutoff at the tank is open and the fuel shutoff cable is in the starting position. Also look to see that the fuel shutoff cable is still attached to the lever on the injector pump and it moves when you move the cable. Now you can begin the bleeding process.

Thanks Guy's!

Followed the bleeding procedure and got the tractor going but very smokey, the tractor was smokey from the beginning but not like today. What cause blue/black heavy smoke? Injectors should be replaced?

Definitely I will purchase the workshop manual.

Thanks again or your help.

I would check and verify, there are NO obstructions in the AIR INLET system...eg,Air filter, colpased hose from air filter to Engine Intake.

I'm NOT familiar with the MF 65....Is there some type of a cold weather assist to start the engine? eg, an electrical element in the Intake that gets hot and ignites fuel?

I have seen the above on a Mf 35 Perkins fail, raw fuel was entering the Intake..

With the engine running, remove the CAP on the engine OIL FILER ADAPTER..

Any indication of pressure build up in the engine crankcase??

Bob..
