I had to clean my fuel system due to some kind of fuel contamination. Anyway, I had to clean out my CAV pump. I did a lite rebuild on it. Just the seals and such. I didn't take the internal portions apart at all. Took the top cover off and cleaned it out. Took the transfer pump filter, pressure valve, and vanes out and cleaned and reassembled. Washed it all up good and put it all back together as it came apart.
I put it all back together and got the timing marks lined up. Primed it and it runs. The problem is it seems to be running the engine rpms up when I use the tractor. What I mean is, when I set the throttle and go set a bail of hay out. It seems to randomly rev the engine to a higher rpm. It does it going up and down hill. I dont recall havi g a clutch slipping issue before. I just cleaned the fuel system from the tank filter to the CAV pump. Could this be a timing issue?
