I have a 135 MF with the 145 Continental engine. I've read a lot about older blocks cracking betweem cylinders. Is this a problem in the 145 or has the problem been fixed ?

I was told a Z134 and a Z145 are the same
basic block. Different stroke. Pistons,
Con rods, crank. Do you know if that is
correct?

That is correct the crank, rods, pistons, and liners are the only differences. The z134, and z145 blocks remained basically the same (the 235, 135, 35, and to35 all have the same bellhousing design, and the blocks have provision for an external oil filter).

The z120, and z129 blocks had a different bellhousing design for use on the to20, and to30, and no external oil filter. The z120, and z129 show to use the same liner seals as the z134, z145, but all the other parts are slightly different so I don't think you can "hot rod" a z120, z129 by using z145 internals.
