I have a 1947 Ferguson TE20 with a Continental Z120 Engine. I am redoing the engine (inframe) as i got colant in the oil.

The block has craks going downwards on the front side and the backside of where the o-rings on the cylinder liners are suppose to seal, on two of the four cylinders.

welding the block is to expencive, and new cylinders liner o-rings would not seal properly..... Is there some sort of seale substans or block seal i can use to seal?

PS, this is a one shot project, if this does not work i will convert to a Standard engine or P3 engine, so it does not matter if the cylinders liners gets stuck in there forever, i just want them sealed, and I just want to keep my Continental engine running.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Seems to me there were some threads on here a few years ago about a company guys were sending Continental blocks to to have them ''furnace brazed''.

I didn't find anything in a quick archive search, though.

Anyone remember?

I remember the threads, but I'd think
you'd have to map and maybe machine the
block afterwards. There are used blocks
out there. If he doesn't have power
steering, there are more blocks available.
I doubt it's worth it.

I'm also pretty sure a Z145 is the same
block (different stroke, rods, piston,
maybe crank)

Neighbour asked me to secure several continental Blocks.
Ran a cable through them, dumped into lake. At the 25'depth, I secured his Dock to the scrap Iron.
Blocks were apparently leaking coolant into oil pan.
Visibility was great.......:)

I have bored unsleaved blocks that were damaged with holes in the bore for sleeves Coated the sleeves KD blocker sealer. Infact I use Kd sealer as a lube when driving sleeves.
