DieselTech - MF 1100 Starter Question

You recently advised a poster about MF 135 starter solenoid fix; rotating the top starter hot terminal 180 degrees to fix an intermittent
cranking problem. Will this work on a MF 1100 with Perkins diesel? When mine sits for a couple of weeks, the first attempt at starting results
in a click. Usually the second or third attempt it cranks and fires up. Rest of the day it usually starts first attempt. I figured it's a
solenoid issue. Being cheap, I thought I would try your fix first unless you tell me it won't work. (It's the original starter and solenoid.)
This is what it looks like, from AllStates web page. Thanks!

Gentlemen; than you both. I removed the end cap of the solenoid and found the top contact was heavily eroded. I turned it over, cleaned up the other contact and plunger disk. Starter works great and cranking speed is improved. Appreciate your advice!
