Followup MF 65 wiring question

Thanks so much for your earlier answers on re-connecting the alternator wires that got pulled off by some brush. I've been very busy with other projects and finally got around to replacing the burnt wires that occurred when the alternator got disconnected and think I got them right, but wanted to run it by all of you before reconnecting the battery and trying it out. I've included a diagram showing what I think is right along with a summary below--any comments on any of this would be greatly appreciated!
ALTERNATOR: main post has one wire going to the batt tab on the voltage regulator (this tractor was converted from generator so it does not use the other 2 tabs on the VR), one short wire going from the main post to the side plug, and another wire from that side plug to the coil. This wire has the resistor soldered onto it that gets real warm.
COIL: on the same terminal that the wire from the alternator goes to, another wire goes to the starter switch terminal that is on the top edge. The other coil terminal has a wire to the distributor.
SOLENOID: heavy wire to the starter, heavy wire from the positive terminal of the battery, one terminal wire goes to the ammeter and the other goes to the ground neutral.
STARTER SWITCH: besides the wire from the coil, there is a copper strip that goes from the middle terminal to the starter button. Another short wire goes from another middle terminal to a terminal at the bottom of the starter switch, and then a wire goes from there to the lights, with a fuse in the wire.
AMMETER: on the same terminal as the wire from the solenoid another wire goes out, and I THINK this should go to the gas gauge. The other gas gauge terminal has a wire going to the gas tank. On the other side of the ammeter, a wire goes to the batt tab of the voltage regulator.
STARTER BUTTON: in addition to the copper strip from the starter switch, the other terminal has a wire going to the ground neutral.
That's about it! Let me know what you think and I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks!

Try comparing your wiring and drawing to the drawing attached. The base drawing is from the Ferguson Club site. I removed the generator and added an alternator like you have. The starter button second wire should go to the neutral switch, then the second terminal of the neutral safety switch goes to the starter solenoid, it is not a neutral ground. (Your copper bar would serve the same purpose as a wire in the drawing.)

Jim has it shown for you on Ferguson diagram.

As I read your diagram:

Resistor should be in the wire from #1 pin on alternator to coil. No resistor from #1 pin to output of alternator as I read in your diagram.

Wire from output side of ammeter to starter solenoid/large battery cable.

Wire from alternator side of ammeter to BAT input on switch. Gauges connect on switch with ignition wire going to coil.

You could do a little clean up and remove the old regulator and run a 10 gauge wire from alternator to ammeter and from ammeter to start solenoid.

Looks like you are about to win.
