I have a 1956 MF50 gas that I cannot get the carburetor working right. Right now it appears to be running too lean due to the soot on the plugs. Am I right to assume it is the carb? I have cleaned the carb, and all the seats several times over I even bough a rebuild kit and did that. But, I cannot get the tractor to run smoothly and with power. Points are hard to come by (those that are any good) so I changed the unit over to electronic ignition. But I had the problem before I changed the ignition over so I don't think that is the issue. Is it time to buy another carburetor? The tractor does not get much use and I think the wonderful gas is eating it up. Thanks for all the help everyone offers on this site.
