MF2244 tachometer cable

My tachometer cable in my MF2244 crawler/loader twisted in half (the interior flex drive) and the outside is very dry rotted. Does anyone know of a replacement? It's 1m long (~39in). So far I've had no luck locating one.

As a side note, the weldment of the tachometer cable passthrough failed, causing a diesel leak (for those that aren't familiar, on this 2244 the tachometer cable passes through a steel tube welded in the dead center of the tank like a tunnel). Mine was a bit gunky, but somehow even though the leak was on the outside of the tank on the front, it managed to make the back of the tank wet as well. I'll chase it with some MIG spots. If your tank is wet, might pay you to have a look around the strap clamps close to the tach cable passthrough.

I had looked at this cable before since it was 39 inches, but the ends looked incompatible and it doesn't mention the 2244. Looking at it again, the black parts at the ends look like some form of shipping jig to protect the internal drive. I'll measure the threaded ends and see if they match this description. Have you verified that this works on the 2244, or did you link it because it's 39 inches? Thank you.

As an aside (hopefully google will lead folks here), my flywheel only speaks Italian. It has two markings, "INIEZ." (abbreviation) and "PMS" (acronym). After searching, reading, and finally consulting an online translator, "iniezione" translates to "injection", and "Punto Morto Superiore" translates to "top dead center".

Nope, this won't work. The drive end is correct, 7/8"... The driven end is 20mm from the best that I can tell. For anyone with a MF2244 reading this, the above mentioned cable will not work.

This is by no means a trailer queen, so I may see if I can adapt a digital tachometer/hall effect sensor onto it so I can have RPM readings and an hour meter to keep up with maintenance intervals. I believe the crank to cam ratio is 2:1, so I'll need a scalable tachometer.

If anyone else has ideas, I'm all ears/eyes.

You can use a part number 194615M1 tachometer/hour meter (counter clockwise rotation) thats used on the MF135 diesel tractor (it will work with the 506331M91 cable). I don't know if it will fit in the existing hole in the dash of the 2244 (but atleast you won't have to calibrate it).
