This carb is on a Massey 65 leaks gas out the air intake. I find that it is a pretty new carb and the needle valve looks to be good (rubber tipped). From what I can find on the internet it should be 5/8, but I couldn't find this model # and this one is about 3/8. 5/8 seems to me like it's a bit much and since there is a freeman loader on it, it's kinda hard to get the carb off and back on so I'd like to get it right before I put it back on. Thanks Keith

flip the top half upside down and eye it up. if its sitting level it good. that is the whole idea. it is not critical to measure to the exact 1/32 of an inch. and from 3/8 - 5/8 is a BIG noticable difference.

The way you describe is what I've always done but I couldn't think 5/8 was accurate. I thought maybe I'd forgot what I knew. I rebuilt carbs on cars and trucks and marvel sheblers on about all of my older tractors. Something just didn't feel right. I took the carb off again this morning & got a light where I could see down in the seat, found the problem so I ordered a new seat and needle valve today. That should fix the problem so I can go ahead and sell the tractor, it won't leave here till it's right. Keith
