Hi I just acquired a Tafe 35di thats a pretty nice tractor. The only thing I need to replace is the neutral safety switch. Ive looked up replacements for the MF 135 and other variants and notice that the plunger is short and spherical. The Tafe is longer and more of a shaft with a conical end. I can get it to work sporadically in part of its range of motion. If you I depress it partially sometimes it closses the contacts and if you depress it completely it opens the contacts. When fully extended the contacts are open. So I put the shifter forward the plunger would be fully extended, in neutral it would be partially depressed, moving it again rearward the plunger will be depressed further. So the shaft is progressively stepped. I would have thought that the shaft would have just one high spot in it for neutral where the switch would just be open then close when depressed instead of being open, closed, open. The threads appear to be 3/4 16tpi. So does anyone know if the Massey replacement operates like this or will I have to find the Tafe switch specifically.
