MF loader parts

Im having trouble getting information and parts for my MF 235 loader. Not the 235 tractor. I have a Massey 175 with an MF 235 loader. The seals are shot, I just need to rebuild them but every time I go to look for parts I end up with tractor part results. So I decided Id go ahead and break one down and just measure everything to find my rebuild kit but its got the strangest nut on the end. Any help appreciated.

I cant figure out how to upload a picture of the nut. Its a half moon shaped chunk out of the side. All sunk inside the end of the ram.

Those have a snap ring that holds the cylinders together. For the 235 loader the seal kits for the lift cylinders are part number 836972M91, for the bucket cylinders the kits are also part number 836972M91 according the parts book.

I've got a MF tractor I love, I've got a MF-232 loader, that works great. But you got to remember these were designed
by the British. In case you never owned a British sports car ......

Ok I don't have snap rings. Look at the part listed as #9. On mine that is flush with the end of the ram housing. All I have to work with is that moon shaped piece machined out of the face of #9, you can kind of see it in your diagram. So maybe on mine #9 is longer and threaded? I don't know, I can't get it out. I wonder if there are multiple versions, who know maybe the same rebuild kit maybe not.

Sorry you're having to deal with all my YT newbie issues. I reposted on the thread and not as a reply.

Have you tried using a flat end punch and tapping the "nut" (gland) down into the cylinder a bit? The ears of the snap ring will likely then be visible down in the area machined away on the moon shaped piece. The snap ring is in a groove in the barrel and keeps the gland from coming out. After installation oil pressure forces the gland out to lock the snap ring in place, if you don't use the ram to move it back out into place.

Awesome. Snap ring. Both the ears are broken off. Thats where I was lost.
