The pressure hose from the primary pump to the filter burst. It may be because the hose is old. I have a service manual that shows what the injection pressures are, but it doesn't show what the primary pump pressure should be. Can one of you readers help me out?

that is the same bosh psb pump the 400 case uses. just get some fuel hose and you can peel the fitting out of the burst hose and use then with little clamps. i did that on my wd40. it not a lot of pressure. probably less that 20 lbs.

There should be a pressure relief valve on one of the filter bases, If I recall the pressure is in the 15-20 PSI range. The system will work fine at 5 PSI too. I'd check that valve to make sure it's not stuck closed.

Thanks guys. After I installed a new hose I put a pressure gauge on the relief valve and found the pressure was 20 psi, so I'll blame it on the hose being too old.

yes, that is what happens...fuel rots them in time.
