MF 65 Solenoid Failing

MF 65 Gas, starter solenoid works, but is sticking inside restarting starter later while tractor is running. This is a push style solenoid, it is not hooked up to a push start on the key panel. I know I should rewire a push start or replace with a key starter, but in short term is there a way to fix this solenoid? It sometimes resets fine with a hammer tap.

IF it's a Delco-Remy the you -might- be able to get some life out of it. IF it's a Lucas then I don't know. If A D-R then remove the battery to solenoid cable and the other ones(remember which one goes where). Remove the solenoid or starter, whichever is easiest. The bolt that the battery attaches needs to be pushed back and -rotated- 90 or 180 degrees. There is a large washer behind it that should be wire brushed to clean up then re-assemble and try to start. I did one on my 245 diesel about six years ago and it's still working. Good Luck with it!

Removed and rotated poles as suggested, WD40 the button, and it worked fine for 6 months

Had it hang up starter again yesterday, so will WD40 for now, maybe remove solenoid and install new solenoid and push start button as original and typical, once hay season is over
