Wont start. ground on power? Massey 50 12volt

hi. what i though would be a simple no start is killing me. cant find any specific wiring diagrams but. ive replaced the
key/ignition
regulator
starter solenoid.

i by passed the neutral switch and put power from starter solenoid right to key turn on position which ill fix once running.
but when i turn my key i get no power to this wire. but when i disconnect it from the solenoid i get power on the wire...
only thing i find strange is im getting ground on the top reg post which goes the the alternator. i removed both wires from alternator just to see and there's still ground ontop is that correct? i come from power sports so we dont use alternators. but its ac? so ground ontop seems fine anyone know where to guide me in very lost.

some reason my picture isnt working?

also tried jumping the solenoid and nothing happened.

miner09 has given you a wiring diagram source to guide you. Remember wire color can be meaningless if it has been rewired, or how a part is mounted can affect where a given terminal is. You need to find where a wire goes or the function of a terminal, not just what it looks like.

I am wondering if you have an alternator or a generator as the wiring of them is different? Your wiring description and what I see of the voltage regulator makes me think you have a generator. Here is your picture for those that haven't seen it.

While an alternator does make AC power, that power is rectified to provide DC output, not AC. The wiring diagram shows the MF50 as a negative ground system. The positive cable from the battery should be going to the solenoid terminal to power the system. The negative battery cable goes to a point on the chassis to provide a ground for the system.

Typical look of a generator

Delco Remy external regulated alternator (shape is typical of other brands)

thanks totally has a generator.
ended up fixing it the positive battery cable had a bad connection. replaced it and boom starts now to the next problem...
