Hi everyone, newbie here.

Taking apart a new to me MF65 to find out what to replace, and found this in the oil pan. It's around 1/16" stamped steel, and has a formed lip around ID. Anyone know what it is, and how difficult it would be to replace? I am likely going to replace rod/main bearings (bearings worn, but journals look good) without splitting the frame, and do valve/seat lapping, replace valve guides, and maybe rings. It seemed to have a blown head gasket as there was more coolant than oil in the oil sump, and had one stuck valve. Anything else I should do while i am in there? Thanks

OK.so I'm probably way off the mark........

My back ground is Power Plant Tech.......

Many component's are assembled with a GANG..A strip of light metal that has floating NUTS. When two components are
assembled the NUTS float...allowing for alignment..expansion...etc..etc..

Used extensively when very thin metal parts are to be assembled.
Something in the Engine has a GANG....?????

.

I have a TO35 that the governor went out and the bearing balls plus worn through cage ended up in the oil pan sump. The TO35 governor cage looks different than what you have there but could be the same issue.

Do you have a parts book for your tractor? You can find them online, sometimes even free download .pdf formats.
Try to get: Service Manual, Parts Manual, and Owners/Operators Manual if possible for your specific tractor/engine.

I also found a few youtube channels very helpful, the australian guy 'Bundy Bears' is very good.
