50a Engine Rebuild question AD4.203 Rod Bolts Replace

I got the engine out of my 50a and taken apart. It is a perkins AD4.203 which spun the #1 rod bearing and seized. Is it common on these engines to replace the rod bolts during the rebuild? I own this with another guy and he thinks we should change the bolts and I don't see a reason and the book doesn't say it is needed. Thoughts?

Did you have the rod checked to make sure the spun bearing didn't damage the fit? On my 65 it was out of round after spinning the bearing ans seizing the engine.
