Hello everyone. I am hoping someone on this forum can shed some light on rebuilding the MS Carburetor TSX361A. I purchased the comprehensive kit from Yesterdays Tractor and have run into an issue installing the needle, seat, and float. The needle and seat that came with the kit is exactly the same as what was in there. When it differs is the clip that came with to hook onto the top of the needle was not in the old carburetor setup and does not work with the float I currently have.

The float I have has metal that is bent downwards and back towards the pontoons creating a space too large for the clip to function. This metal sat on top of the needle and no clip was used. (However due to the nature of the clip and its size, it is possible the clip was missed during the disassembly).

The setup in the directions show a different style float where this metal is not bent downwards but instead is bent upwards and does not serve a purpose to my knowledge. The clip would slide onto the floats without issue and serve a purpose.

How the carburetor functions currently: The needle utilizes gravity to open and allow fuel into the bowl. As the float rises, the needle closes off the flow of fuel.

On to my question(s) if what I described made sense to anyone. Is it possible the carburetor simply does not use this clip and I install the way I believe it was assembled previously?
My obvious concern is I am only depending on gravity to allow the needle to open where as the clip generally assists on the chance the needle sticks slightly.

Thank you in advance!
