MF50 steering cylinder rebuild

I am in the process of rebuilding the hydraulic cylinder on the steering of my MF50. I have the cylinder off and apart except for the control valve. My book indicates that there is a snap ring in the end that the shaft comes out of but I cant see any snap ring. How do I get this thing apart? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Use a punch in one of the hose ports to hold the spool, then turn the link end fork out of the spool valve. Pry out the seal, the spiral ring is under the seal. I also pry out the three small rivets that hold the small cap to get at the other end O ring..

On my 150, I didn't have any luck unscrewing the linkage. I pried out the seal (SKF 6741) and removed the spiral snap ring. Get yourself a dental pick, that bugger is hard to wind out.
