Question of Purity...?

I have come into posession of my uncle's 1950 Row Crop Massey Harris 30, which has the after market wide front end. I've started doing restoration work on it, the sheet metal is all off, electrical (it has already been converted to 12V) needs completely redone and gauges replaced.
I have picked up a 1952 MH30 seat assembly, the original 1950 seat has a straight bar which puts the driver centered on the tractor but offset a little to the left from the steering wheel. The 1952 version has a bend which offsets the driver to the right, in line with the stering wheel.
Since I am planning to use the tractor for work (haul wagons, raking hay etc.) I am tempted to go with the '52 seat and spring post but am wondering abou the authenticity of it...
 
It is your tractor do whatever you want and don't worry about the correct police. I tell anyone that says I have an add on or afterthought on mine, " you can fix the problem on yours when you get it, I bought and paid for this one and I can do what I want to it". That usually shuts them up.
 
Some seat supports may have had some offset built into them to clear hydraulic
cylinders and valves which were located under the seat. They would not be year
specific, so go with the one that allows ease of use for you.

If its converted to 12v then authenticity
is not an issue.
If you happen to be of shorter stature the
offset could change the feel of clutch
pedal operation.
Dad had a 33 with the offset, he put a 4"
spacer on the pedal for a short hired
hand, after about 25 years the wood block
deteriorated and the hired hand long gone
so no more spacer. After 1 day in the hay
field 3 different operators said put the
block back it is not the same tractor. We
all drove the centre seat 44 with no
spacer no issue.
 
I stand about 6'7" so the seat is going to have to be all the way to the rear position... Probably won't be a similar issue. :D
