One of those days 2 hours jut to gethe shop door open (3 inches of ice ) got the tractor out did the driveway , put it back in the shop lowered the blade went to close door needed to pull up another few inches to close the door but the lift would not work, so I backed it out and droped the blade pulled in and closed the door, dug out My shop manual. Any ideas where to start?

Does the PTO SHAFT operate as per what you believe is correct ?

Is your 50 a Dual stage clutch assembly as per picture?

Drain oil from common HYD..TRANSS..DIFF CASE so as oil is below bottom threaded bore / hole...see picture..

Start Tractor...operate hyd lift controls and verify levers and operating as per picture....

Does your 50 have any after market auxiliary controls installed as to operate remote Cylinders / Rams?
Pics are from MF service manual..also of a MF 35 ..

For what it's worth. Many years ago my father was blowing snow with our 165. He stopped at his house to put on more clothes. He left the tractor running with the 3ph down. It would not pick up the snow blower when he got back on. Long story short, the control valve stuck in the down position.

My 150 did that only once. The control spool was stuck. Remove lower bolts on right side cover (sitting on tractor), drain oil level to there, remove cover, check spool movement. Hopefully that's your problem.
