I bought another 1100 when the engine started knocking in mine. It came from a used equipment dealer so I dont have much history on it.
While running, sometimes after an hour, some times 20 minutes, its like you pulled the fuel shut off. Sometimes it will stumble before it dies, sometimes it just quits. I can hop off, crack a few fuel lines at the injectors to bleed it from the injection pump and it will fire up. Then we can do it all over again. So far it only seems to do it under load. I honestly think it would idle a full tank of fuel out.
This tractor also has a weird throttle float to it. If I crank it and set it to idle at 900 or so it will sit there for a while but its going to change before long, it might drop down to 500 and then die, or it might go to 1300. Theres no telling.
Ive cleaned the strainer on top of the injection pump, new fuel filters and gaskets and changed out a couple of the fuel line sleeves. The dealer claims he ran it out of fuel bailing hay, but there is a fairly new lift pump on it, so Im wondering if this might be part of why someone sold the tractor in the first place.
So is this indicative of any particular problem? I know Im getting air but it seems to be losing prime from the top of the injection pump to the injectors. I dont want to start at the tank and work my way forward if someone here might be able to say Oh yeah, that means xxxx is wrong with your pump, get it built.
If you have any advice or ideas, Im all ears.
Thanks.
