I've asked about this in a different YT forum. I still have questions and hoped there might be more people here with knowledge about Massey Ferguson. Last week I bought a 1961 MF65 diesel. I've worked through several issues, but haven't found information about the tachometer drive. The tach doesn't work and the cable isn't turning, but it looks good. Turning the input end manually will deflect the tach needle. I'd like to find a source for parts and get a better understanding of how it works, before disassembling the system. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcXJ12GEMa4 about a glue repair on a tach drive adapter from an MF35.
The system is clearly very similar to my MF65, but not identical and I wouldn't disassemble my tach drive to do a glue repair, either.
Any information applicable to repairing the MF65 tach drive would be appreciated.
