This tractor has had a loud knock since I bought it. It stays after warmup, and I've checked injectors, timing, air intake, and rod bearings. There's an internal "tap", "clack?" when I force it back and forth w/ the fan. Does that indicate a loose piston pin, or liner? Otherwise, this is a great tractor.

I just recently rebuilt one where the sleeve had worked itself loose, slid down the bore, and go chopped up by the crankshaft.

The number 1 sleeve that was found in the bottom of the oil pan.

That might be it. When I drained the oil just after buying it there were small pieces of metal in the strainer, but nothing anywhere else, and it was supposed to have
had rod bearings done recently, so I thought maybe they never cleaned the strainer out, just put the pan back on. Won't start it again- just take it apart. Thanks.
