135 fuel gauge

MF 135 fuel gauge reads 1/4 when empty and 1/2 when full. Is the problem with the sender or the gauge? 145 Gas engine.

Hi Phil, if you disconnect the ‘live’ wire at the tank sender and earth it the gauge should show ‘full’ if it is working. More likely to be the sender. If you order new there are two types, 5 and 6 hole mounting. Check which you have.

Looks like it is the sending unit. Gauge works fine when I tried your test.Thanks for the suggestion.
